BBB Prediction Blog: Jeff VS Gible (Marvel VS Pokémon)

“I am a shark, the ground is my ocean, and most people can’t even swim.”

 - Rickson Gracie

There are several animals that have been unfairly demonized by humans due to their appearance, their depiction in mythologies, and even the attributes they evolved to survive, but out of all the animals that have been treated in such a manner, there is none that has been affected more by this than the humble Shark. Due to various exaggerated or even invented stories of these intelligent and calm creatures attacking humans like a movie monster, many have sought to hunt them and even drive them to extinction, believing that they are the biggest killers in the ocean.

This couldn't be further from the truth, but despite this, the idea still exist to this day, there have been many attempts to change the image of sharks in the public eye. And these two are the greatest examples against this stereotype. They are still small beasts capable of fighting, but when you get to know them, you will realize that they are cute little creatures that are a blessing to have as a friend. Oh. They can also walk on land.

Jeff, The Huggable Land Shark and goodest boy from Marvel Comics.

Gible, The Small Dragon/Ground-type Pokémon from the Sinnoh region.

In this Shark-Shark battle, we're going to pit the Marvel universe against the Pokémon universe in the battle of the little guys, to see which of the little guys is the strongest little guy. Will Jeff put Gible’s HP in 0, or will Gible stop Jeff's comic run? There's only one way to find out, by taking a look at their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win… a DEATH BATTLE!

Before We Start…

For this blog, I'm having a composite for the two. For Jeff, the main focus is the main canon Earth-616 from Marvel Comics, but we are also using Jeffs from other universes like Earth-21673, and different adaptations like It's Jeff & the Avengers and Marvel Rivals (But just in terms of abilities, I'm not going to scale Jeff to the other characters he fights in gameplay like Thor, Hulk or Loki, so not using the Marvel Rivals comics here). As for Gible, i'm going to combine him or them with all the different Gibles that have appeared in the different Pokémon media such as games, manga, anime, and movies, etc. since all Gibles should be able to do the same things as each other because they’re from the same species. But before we start, there are a couple things to clear up with these two.

Despite the composite aspect, both will still have limitations that they can have. For Jeff, despite having had access to things like the Eye of Agamotto, the Hulkbuster Armor, and the Infinity Stones, I am not going to give them to him because they are not things that he can get so easily and they would end the debate immediately.

As for Gible, I’m only looking at Gible here, so any kind of feat or ability shown by its next two evolutions, Gabite and Garchomp, will not be included unless Gible has been shown to have them in some way itself. So this would be like a Gible at level 23 at its maximum, the strongest a Gible can be before evolving. And even though I'm going to be looking at some Gibles with trainers here, this will be a wild Gible without the help of a trainer, so he won't have any items like potions and he won't have any moves that he can only learn through TMs. Also, blatantly non-canon material like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon will not be included.

I also want to thank a anonymous friends for doing the calcs for this blog, the blogs of Death Battle Predictions: Venom VS Crona, Death Battle Predictions: Black Widow VS Widowmaker, Death Battle Predictions: Tarzan VS Kraven the Hunter, Bang's Blogs: Clayface vs Sandman, Chaos vs. Kyogre (Sonic vs. Pokemon), Death Battle Predictions: Ash VS Yugiand the respect threads of Kraven the Hunter (Marvel 616), Deadpool (Marvel, 616) and Jeff the Land Shark (Marvel 616) for some scans and scaling, and the Death Battle Predictions: Goro VS Machamp for… huh, Inspiration when writing some segments.

With all that out of the way, let's get started with the blog.

Background

Jeff

"Mrrrr!"

One day, the super villain M.O.D.O.K. decides to create a new breed of Sharks capable of walking on land to attack the city of Santa Monica. Luckily, the newly formed West Coast Avengers managed to keep the Land Sharks from wreaking any more havoc, but M.O.D.O.K. still had some of the Sharks he created. In the middle of a mission the West Coast Avengers were on to rescue America Chavez and Clint Barton from M.O.D.O.K's lair, Gwenpool adopted the smallest of these Land Sharks and named him Jeff.

Since then, Jeff has been on several missions with the team, and especially with Gwenpool, with whom he created a special connection. But around this time, Gwen was having a crisis about losing popularity and not appearing in comics anymore, but she also worried about what would happen to Jeff, with how close he was to her. So in order to give Jeff a secure future, Gwen came up with the idea of giving him to a character that she knows Marvel will never stop publishing; Deadpool.

Gwen pretty much forces Wade to take him in, so Jeff becomes more popular with the Deadpool association. But when she did this, Deadpool was the King of the Monsters ruling an entire Island full of them, which also made Jeff royalty. There, Jeff and Wade had several adventures defending the Island from anyone who wanted to attack it and do everything possible to improve the kingdom, creating a connection with him and pretty much every other Marvel character Jeff interacts with.

Jeff has since been seen back with Gwen, but is also with Kate Bishop, any random Marvel hero, in the Avengers Tower, or on his own with no one looking after him. Jeff seems to have no master, being able to go wherever he wants, play with whoever he wants, and do whatever he wants with the rest of the Marvel Universe just accepting that. After all, he isn't a pet; It's Jeff.

Gible

"Gible."

The Land Shark Pokémon, Gible, is a Dragon/Ground-type that originated in the Sinnoh region. National Pokedex #443, standing at 2’4” and weighing in at a solid 45.2 Lbs. He is the first in the evolutionary line of Gabite and Garchomp, Pokémons that represent strength, strong will, determination, and being badass (Seriously, look at them). But with their clumsy and oblivious initial nature, Gible has a long way to go before becoming these noble and respected Pokémon.

Giles are usually found in warm areas such as volcanic areas, deserts, beaches, and caves, usually inside a nest to avoid the cold, attacking anyone who gets close to their nest. Despite their territorial and overprotective nature, it has been observed that Gibles are usually in packs, still, is unlikely for a trained one to come across one so easily, but if they do, be careful, because despite being in its first evolutionary stage, this little Land Shark already has a bite in it.

Experience & Skill

Jeff

Jeff has been through quite a bit of experiences in his life after being rescued from M.O.D.O.K. He went on an adventure with the West Coast Avengers to save some of their members from a vampire cult, alongside Deadpool he defended Monster Island from people wanting to slaughter them, fought a giant Rafmagjira monster, reached the Island of Krakoa, faced his own shadow, fought alongside a bunch of other freaks against an invasion of Symbiotes led by the villain Kull, and even fought in yet another Symbiote invasion alongside the West Coast Avengers once more, this time with his own Symbiote suit. Even on a small scale Jeff has done things like helping various animals, teaming up with other super animals to stop the criminals Ziggy Pig and Silly Seal, chasing his own shadow that escaped, and even went on an interstellar adventure with other super-animals to return to Earth. While Jeff obviously hasn't done all of these things alone, he has still worked alongside some of Marvel's greatest heroes and helped them out at least a little bit in these events.

Jeff has managed to do all of that with his skills and intelligence. Jeff has often been shown fighting mainly by biting his enemies with his big mouth, although he has also been shown to be able to use weapons such as knives, to improvise with things around him, and in Marvel Rivals Jeff gains several special powers and abilities to defend himself but mostly to help his allies in battle. Jeff is also smarter than the average shark, even showing the same level of intelligence as a human by doing things like being able to understand what humans say and what human signs mean, can write, how to open different types of cages and containers, the use of phones and computers, knows how to play video games, set up background scenes, make snow sculptures, has developed several human talents such as drawing, singing, cooking, and even knows how to use Wakanda technology to modify his car. So… pretty smart boy.

Gible

Gibles, like any other creature in the Pokémon world, are a fascinating species. Gibles have lived in warm areas in the past, and today they can be found in areas such as beaches, deserts, and mostly in deep holes in caves with geothermal heat, the species likes heat so much that Garchops has even been seen living in volcanic mountains.

Gibles have developed methods to keep warm, such as becoming very good diggers to make deep holes for homes and huddling with other members of its species to stave off the cold. We have seen several moments of Gibles gathered together as a pack, and we know from their nature that they enjoy play-fighting with each other. That combined with their tendency to attack anything that moves and the fact that fully evolved Garchops have been seen in the wild, it would be natural to think that they fight in nature all the time against other wild Pokémon.

Gibles themselves have shown a basic understanding of combat. They are in their early evolutionary stage and are not as experienced in combat as Gabite and Garchomp, so they are not as skilled in combat as them, relying on more direct attacks, specifically involving their enormous mouths. But like any other Pokémon, Gible knows very well how to use his Status and Special moves, and every time he wins a fight he levels up, becoming an increasingly better fighter.

Equipment

Jeff

Knives

During a Symbiote invasion on Earth, Jeff stabbed one with a knife using his mouth, discovering that he is very good at using knives.

Rope

Jeff has a rope that he uses to hang from places like Tom Cruise. But he could also use it to do all the other things you can do with a rope.

Torch Gun

Jeff has a Torch Gun that he uses for... well... what a Torch Guns are used for.

Costumes

Jeff has used a variety of disguises that (in addition to making him look adorable) can also hide his identity very well from the casual eye. These disguises are:

Purple Shinkage Concoction

Made at the Avengers Research Facility, this is a purple concoction that when touched causes Jeff to shrink so much that he becomes smaller than an ant.

Green Growth Concoction

This green concoction has the opposite effect, making Jeff grow when it touches it, making him bigger than several skyscrapers. While it previously required a completely different form to return to normal size, the effects now appear to be temporary.

Mr. Hyde Concoction

Another purple concoction completely different from the previously mentioned purple concoction. What this does is, when Jeff drinks it, it puts him in a Mr. Hyde type situation where he randomly transforms and returns from being a crazier, wilder, ruder, slightly larger, and purple version of himself.

Iron Man Boot

This is a boot from an Iron Man suit that Jeff uses by putting his two little fins inside it to be able to fly and move in any direction he wants without any problem.

Portal Controller

This is a super tech controller that Jeff managed to obtain that by pressing a button, would create a portal that would take him wherever he wanted, he has even been shown capable of making multiple portals to multiple places so that Jeff can go to all of them.

The specifics of the controller are never made clear, so as far as we know, all Jeff has to do is press the button on the controller and he'll make a portal to wherever he wants.

Magic Hat

This is a purple top hat that is connected to other black top hats that can transport things from hat to hat, meaning that what goes into one hat will come out of the others.

Universal Translator

Jeff was given a device to translate what he said into a more understandable language. But it turns out MODOK created him to speak in "Modokian," a language he invented.

Body-Changing Diamond

This is a gem in Doctor Strange's position that Jeff ate one day, causing him to switch heads and bodies with the person who was near him, which was Doctor Strange in this case.

Apparently this change causes whoever got Jeff's body to still retain their powers while all it does for Jeff is put his head into another body. The only way to reverse it is if the person with Jeff's body vomits the gem.

Combo Stones

Originally found in Doctor Strange's house, these stones are described as functioning like Rogue's powers, allowing people to share powers. One day Jeff tried to eat some of these stones, and upon eating some of them, he realized that eating one gave him a different superpower.

The green one gives him huge Hulk-like muscular arms, the blue one gives him eight octopus-like tentacles, the red one gives him laser eyes or vision (Whatever is the term you use for it), and the yellow, orange, and purple ones are harder to identify since at this point Jeff put them all together to have all the powers at once, but we can deduce from the new powers added that one makes him bigger, another gives him crab arms, and another gives him huge green legs (Or is that the same effect as the green one and it's a different super power we never learn what it is, maybe bigger teeth?). There are also new gems like a multi-colored gem that changes the world into a cartoon and therefore change the reality around him with cartoon logic, a black gem that allows him to open Shadow Demon Portals depending on where Jeff thinks, and a blue and yellow one that will give him the powers of two superheroes that are near him, in this case Wolverine's adamantium claws and Psylocke's psychic teeth (Psylocke does not have psychic teeth; it's just how her psychic abilities were presented to Jeff).

Mecha-Jeff

Created by Rocket Raccoon, this is a small, round mech that has spring arms, short legs, and a button that lets it say "Hey!" While we don't see the mech do much, from what we can see, it looks very nimble, and Jeff can use it very well once it's created.

Miscellaneous Superhero Items

Jeff, being the little rascal that he is, has had the tendency to steal some items from various Marvel characters. Iron Man's boot, some chemicals from the labs and Doctor Strange's magic things are some of these, but Jeff has gained other name items that deserve to be highlighted.

Now, whether Jeff should have easy access to these items or have them all in a fight is another story, I put them here just to cover everything with him.

Wakanda Car

Made by T'Challa using Wakanda technology, this is a futuristic mini car made especially for Jeff that can go at high speeds and even floats. Jeff later modifies it to give it bigger wheels, two booster rockets, make it look cooler, and by the looks of it, to make it even faster.

Gible

Haban Berry

Many members of the Garchomp line can be found carrying a Haban Berry in the wild, which weakens a foe's super effective Dragon-type attack while being held or consumed.

Abilities

Jeff

Land Shark Physiology

Jeff is a genetically modified shark that has legs and a respiratory system that allows him to walk and breathe on land, without losing his ability to swim and breathe underwater. We don't know the details of Jeff's creation, whether he was a modified Shark to be able to be on land or if he was created from shark DNA to create new species from 0, but what we do know is that, despite his appearance, Jeff is not a baby, just a little man who will never get any bigger.

For the sharp indent in his caudal fin and his defined snout, it seems that Jeff is a Great White Shark. A species commonly known as the largest predatory fish species in the world, found mainly inhabiting temperate and tropical coastal waters world, they have a average lifespan of 30 to 70 years, the strongest bite force of all sharks with their upper teeth and lower teeth, a white underbellies and darker dorsal areas, allowing them to be harder to see by prey, from above or below, heightened senses which allows them to sense weak electrical currents, electromagnetic fields, vibrations, magnetic fields, and blood, with electrical sensors, and they also have… this.

But Jeff still has a lot of cool qualities to him besides being able to walk and breathe on land. He appears to have opposable toes on his front paws that allow him to do things like hold objects and open stuff, he has a somewhat flexible body that allows him to squeeze into tight places and stretch when eating something larger than himself, super-strong teeth that can survive even a bite from a rock, and has such a big mouth and stomach that he can eat almost anything without chewing and has a huge stomach that can hold things like toys, signs and even the Infinity Gauntlet. wait what? Oh, and he also have a skin pocket... Sure, why not?

Mouth-based Attacks

Being the most pronounced part of Jeff's body, his most frequent way of attacking is biting. He really is an expert at biting. He bites a lot.

Stealth and Invading

One of the most consistent things Jeff has been shown to do is being able to enter any location at any time and not be detected.

Jeff has been seen entering places where access should be impossible such as Avengers Labs, a M.O.D.O.K. toy factory, the homes of various superheroes, and even the mutant nation of Krakoa alongside Deadpool. One would assume that this is because the heroes take him to these places considering how relaxed they are about seeing him there, but no, Jeff has been to all of these places because he wants to

And no one notices Jeff is in these locations until they see him, which is doubly surprising considering that many of these places should have high security. He even has gone so far as to steal things like various superhero gadgets and a special Krakoa flower with 0 problems.

4th Wall Awareness

Jeff has been shown to be able to speak directly to the comic's audience in a fourth wall breaking gag. This only happens once in a Gwenpool comic, but Jeff has still shown an awareness of the fourth wall when he gives the occasional wink to the audience.

Joyful Splash

This is a move from Marvel Rivals in which Jeff shoots water out of his mouth like a hose, this splash can heal an ally and damage an enemy from a great distance.

Aqua Burst

Another more direct attack from Marvel Rivals in which Jeff launches a high-speed water ball from his mouth that bursts upon impact, dealing damage to enemies within range. Jeff can throw up to 3 water balls at once, and this move just like Joyful Splash needs to be reloaded after a set period of use by eating a fish.

Hide and Seek

This is an ability that allows Jeff to dive into the scene with only his dorsal fin exposed as if it were the ocean, he can swim on ground, stone, wood, and cement, and he moves between them without problem. This grants him a movement boost and even wall-crawl. Also, using this move after taking damage heals Jeff from any damage he has taken.

Healing Bubbles

Jeff can spit out multiple bubbles that can heal allies when picked up, increasing that ally's healing by 100 HP. Luckily Jeff can also use the bubbles to heal himself.

IT’S JEFF

This is Jeff's Ultimate attack. This causes Jeff to go underground, creating a whirlpool of water while temporarily growing larger to devour both allies and enemies within range of the attack, activating Hide and Seek for a brief duration before ejecting the swallowed heroes forward. Jeff can hold these allies and enemies for six seconds, damaging the enemies in the process, and then spit his allies and enemies out separately, dropping his allies off in a safe place on the objective or leading the enemies into danger.

Oblivious Cuteness

Despite what the name may suggest, all this ability does is reduce damage taken from critical strikes and hits. Which is a huge help to a character that is 50% head.

Resistances

Gible

Moveset

The Garchomp evolutionary line can learn many Physical moves with the occasional Special and Status move, with the Dragon and Ground type moves dealing 50% more damage due to their typing matching that of the line. I'm also going to include moves that the evolution line can learn via breeding, as there have been cases of Pokémon in the wild being found with those kinds of moves. However, since we're talking specifically about Gible, I'll include all the moves it can learn before evolving into Gabite at Level 24 and all the moves that Gibles have been shown using outside of games in media such as Anime and Manga, being treated to an extent like their video game counterparts but with their differences. The following list are all the moves Gible can use:

  • Tackle: A Normal-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible charges straight to somebody and slams into the target with their whole body.
  • Strength: A Normal-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible strikes the opponent at maximum power and also allows them to move heavy objects.
  • Take Down: A Normal-Type Physical Move with 85% accuracy. Gible recklessly charges at the opponent, slamming into it with their whole body, but it also hurts them a little.
  • Double-Edge: A Normal-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible rushes to the opponent with a reckless, life-risking tackle that damages them quite a lot, receiving recoil damage equal to ¼ of the damage done to the target.
  • Body Slam: A Normal-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible drops onto the opponent with its full body and weight, with a one-in-three chance of paralyzing them, making them unable to attack a quarter of the time.
  • Scary Face: A Normal-Type Status Move with 100% accuracy. Gible frightens the opponent with a scary face that lowers their Speed.
  • Thrash: A Normal-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible rampages and attacks everything in sight that lasts two to three turns. Afterwards, they become confused.
  • Dig: A Ground-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible digs underground and becomes immune to almost all moves during the first turn, then popping up in the next turn to attack. They can also travel underground, with its head fin sticks out of the ground. It also works for climbing ground structures.
  • Outrage: A Dragon-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible rampages and attacks in rapid succession affecting the opponent for 2-3 turns. But afterwards they become confused due to fatigue.
  • Rock Smash: A Fighting-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible has one of his hands glow white or yellow and it punches the opponent with it so hard that it has a 50% chance of lowering the target's Defense. It can also be used to break rocks and boulders to clear the path.
  • Iron Head: A Steel-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible uses his steel-hard head to slam the opponent. It may also make them flinch, becoming unable to execute a move for one turn.
  • Metal Claw: A Steel-Type Physical Move with 95% accuracy. Gible rakes the opponent with his sharp claws of steel, with a 10% chance of raising their own Attack.
  • Iron Tail: A Steel-Type Physical Move with 75% accuracy. Gible turns his tail into stiff steel and slams the opponent with it. It also has a chance to lower their Defense.
  • Sand Attack: A Ground-Type Status Move with 100% accuracy. Gible throws sand at the opponent’s face to blind it and reduces its attack accuracy, although the move has a 25% chance to fail.
  • Mud Shot: A Ground-Type Special Move with 95% accuracy. Gible hurled multiple blobs of mud at the opponent which, in addition to hurting them, also reduces their speed.
  • Rock Climb: A Normal-Type Physical Move with 85% accuracy. Gible attacks the opponent by smashing into it with incredible force, also leaving it confused. It can also be used to scale rocky walls.
  • Dragon Rush: A Dragon-Type Physical Move with 75% accuracy. Gible tackles the opponent while exhibiting overwhelming menace, with a 20% chance of causing flinching.
  • Dragon Rage: A Dragon-Type Special Move with 100% accuracy. Gible launches a shock wave of pure rage which always inflicts 40-HP regardless of the opponent's type.
  • Bulldoze: A Ground-Type Physical Move with 100% accuracy. Gible stomps down on the ground creating a shock wave that hits everything around. It can also reduce the speed of whoever is affected by it.
  • Dragon Breath: A Dragon-Type Special Move with 100% accuracy. Gible exhales a mighty breath attack that, in addition to inflicting a ton of damage, it also has a one-in-three chance to leave the opponent with paralysis.
  • Draco Meteor: A Dragon-Type Special Move with 90% accuracy. Gible shoots an orange ball of light into the sky that explodes, raining down multiple smaller spheres at the opponent that inflicts damage and lowers the user's Special Attack. Gible can also hold onto the opponent with its mouth and the opponent becomes surrounded by that orange ball of energy and goes to the sky, becoming part of the explosion.
  • Dragon Pulse: A Dragon-Type Special Move with 100% accuracy. Gible opens its mouth and generates a ball of shock wave energy that fires at the opponent.
  • Sand Tomb: A Ground-Type Physical move with 85% accuracy. Gible raises a harshly raging sandstorm around the opponent that traps and hurts them for a period of 2-5 turns.
  • Twister: A Dragon-Type Special Move with 100% accuracy. Gible whips up a vicious tornado to tear at the opponent with a 20% chance of causing them to flinch. Also, if someone is flying or bouncing while they are hit by this attack, the power of the attack will be doubled.
  • Sandstorm: A Rock-Type Status Move that clears any other weather there was in the time. Gible summons a giant sandstorm for 5 turns that damages all Pokémon except those of Rock, Ground, and Steel types; it can even affect the same Pokémon that use that move if they are not one of those types.

Abilities

Abilities are passive effects that can benefit a Pokémon in different ways depending on which one they have. They can only have one at a time, and the Ability they receive from birth can’t be changed to another by natural means. The following is a list of all the possible Abilities Gible can have:

  • Sand Veil: If Gible is in a sandstorm, their evasiveness goes up while they aren't damaged by the sandstorm.
  • Sandpit: Restores 1/8 of maximum HP when Gible is standing on soil or sand.
  • Instinct: Gible uses intuition to swiftly evade enemy moves.
  • Melee: Gible can deal damage to adjacent enemies, equal to 1/16 of the victim's maximum HP.
  • Rough Skin: This is Gible’s Hidden Ability, an Ability that is found rarely in a Pokémon’s species. If someone attacks Gible with an attack that directly connects with them, the attacker takes a small amount of damage in return.

Mouth-based Attacks

In the Pokémon world there are several attacks that involve biting someone or the mouth in general. But Gible doesn't need any of them, they naturally bite other Pokémon and even people like any other would bite someone, using their huge mouth to bite everyone with powerful attacks, even if those same bites can hurt themselves. This sometimes causes its teeth to chip and fall off in the process, but they are never bothered by this because the teeth will grow back after a few days. And it's not very easy for teeth to break anyway, since they are capable of eating through most types of metal.

Non-Physical Interaction

Gible's bites are quite hard, so hard that it can even bite non-physical things. Gible was once able to eat a Dusknoir's Shadow Punch, a move that is described multiple times as coming from the shadows and never missing. For further evidence, they were able to connect Rock Smash with a Darkrai who, like other Ghost-Types, has shown the ability to become Intangible.

Resistances

  • Rock-Type Moves: As a part Ground-Type, Gible is resistant to any Rock-Type attacks due to rocks not being able to harm the ground.
  • Poison-Type Moves: As a part Ground-Type, Gible is resistant to any Poison-Type attack due to earth not being able to be poisoned.
  • Electricity-Type Moves: As a part Ground-Type (again), Gible is resistant to any Electric-Type attack due to earth not being a good conductor for electricity.
  • Fire-Type Moves: As a- You know what, Gible is resistant to any Fire-Type attack duo to earth being used to put out fires sometimes.

Forms

Jeff

Super-Big-Magic-Monster-Jeff

This is something Jeff transforms into by eating the Magic Gems that Doctor Strange had, more precisely by combining it all into a small ball and eating it all at once. By doing this, Jeff becomes larger, with tentacle arms, crab hands, muscular limbs, laser eyes, and another unidentified superpower. In this form Jeff is able to defeat a magical monster that was giving Doctor Strange trouble.

Venom Symbiote

During Knull's invasion of Earth, Jeff fought against the invasion alongside Deadpool and his band of freaks, but unfortunately during the battle a Symbiote took over him, with a similar thing happening on Earth-21673, and years later during the event of 'Venom Wars', Jeff was infected by a Symbiote again.

Even though in his first appearance it looks more like the Symbiote is in control of Jeff and he loses it at the end of the issue, in Earth-21673 it seems that Jeff with the Symbiote is more in control and is not as violent as the original version, this is shown canon when Earth-616 Jeff obtains a Symbiote again, and this time is showing himself to be less savage, with more awareness, and even coming to have a mutual relationship with his Symbiote, implying that Jeff has control over it and maybe even keep it. During all this, we have seen Jeff use some Symbiote abilities such as infect others through the Symbiote, increasing in size, and use the symbiote's biomass to expand his tongue or transform into a big anthropomorphic version of himself with buff arms to hit others. So it wouldn't be crazy to assume that Jeff could use all the other abilities that a Symbiote has shown to have.

Those being making tentacles, shields, webs, and wings to fly, venom fangs, a Psychic Shriek that can cause depression, a ESP that scan nearby areas and alert of any threat, camouflage, invisibility, mind/soul protection, and regeneration. But even with all that, Symbiotes still have the same weaknesses to fire and very loud sounds, with the latter being the way Jeff returned to normal, twice.

Scaling

Jeff

Kraven The Hunter

Kraven once invaded Monster Island in order to hunt Monsters for sport, resulting in Deadpool and his allies fighting Kraven's forces to defend the island, including Jeff. At the end of Issue 2, a showdown between Kraven and Jeff is teased, but we never saw that.

Given the presentation of the event and Kraven being… Kraven, we can assume the fight did happen but off-screen, and since both appear in the next issue as if nothing happened, we can assume it was a very even fight, so it makes sense that Jeff would scale to Kraven.

Gwenpool and Deadpool

Both Gwenpool and Deadpool have gone into battle alongside Jeff multiple times and they haven't shown the need to protect him, treating him more as equals in combat with all hurting the same enemies equally. If that wasn't enough evidence, in their battle against the Rafmagjira, Wade had a hard time to penetrate the monster's scales, while Jeff was able to do more easily, even inside the monster. That combined with the fact that both Wade and Gwen have fought each other, it should be reasonable for Jeff to them. But their more ‘‘grounded’’ stuff and not the crazy 4th wall breaking stuff, that would be too much.

Gible

Misc. Pokémon

Pokemon don't just fight because of their trainers, in the wild Pokemon fight each other just like any other animal would. Now, it would be hard to say what types of Pokemon Gible has fought on a daily basis, so here we'll take into account Pokemon that we've seen Gible defeat on screen and the ones that would make sense for him to be superior to, like Baby Pokémon.

Weaknesses

Jeff

Jeff is more impressive than one might expect, but he still has his weaknesses. The biggest one is that Jeff only has one way to attack normally, bite. When fighting a huge enemy all he can do is bite, although with his items and Marvel Rivals that problem is solved a little, it is still something to take into account when it comes to Jeff's base.

Another one is that every time Jeff has faced a huge threat such as groups of enemies, monsters or big monsters, he has always done so with a team on his back, Jeff alone has never been seen handling a threat larger than himself, being more in Slide of Life situations. Also, although Jeff has shown to be very intelligent for several things, he has also been shown to be clumsy, distracted and prone to making mistakes, which can get him into several bad situations.

Gible

All Pokémon have weaknesses and Gible is no exception. For ones, as a Dragon/Ground-type Pokémon, Gible is weak to any Pokémon and any Pokémon moves of Dragon-types, Fairy-types, and Ice-type, whom it takes double damage from (especially from the Ice-Types that take quadruple damage).

In addition, Gibles have consistently shown to be extremely clumsy and oblivious, making them go into battle against any Pokémon, even those more powerful than them. They are so clumsy, they can even hurt themselves by biting others. Related, Gible has moves such as Outrage and Thrash that can confuse Gible after use. Finally, Gible's way of fighting is very primitive and basic compared to its more advanced and experienced evolutions. Even at level 23, Gible is still a first stage Pokémon, so it can't fully scale to its evolutions and who they battle against.

Before We Get to the Verdict

Talking about some moves

This section is to explain some of Jeff and Gible's moves, why I included some, why I didn't include others, how I handled them, how I scaled them with them, that sort of thing.

First off Jeff, if you know anything about Marvel Rivals and all of Jeff's moves, you might have noticed that I dropped two abilities; New Friends and Frozen Spitball. The first one makes Jeff receive damage reduction, and the second one makes Jeff able to use ice energy so he can throw chunks of ice at the opponent that also cools the surroundings. The latter is especially important to the outcome of the fight because of Gible's incredible weakness to ice. Well, those two are Team-Up Abilities, which means that Jeff can only have access to them if he is accompanied by two teammates, Groot and Luna Snow respectively, so by himself he would not have these abilities, that is why they are not included on this blog or debate.

For Gible there are A LOT of things to talk about when it comes to moves. Here I included a lot of moves that Gible can learn in the games, ombined with moves we've seen Gibles being able to do in the manga and anime, but something I didn't include were the moves learned by TMs, this is because these moves can only be learned with interference from trainers, and although some Gibles analyzed here had trainers, in general the Gible in this blog is a wild Gible, therefore it won't have moves learned by TMs.

There are also several other moves that require some explanation due to their nature, such as Twister which creates a tornado, Sandstorm which creates a sandstorm, and Bulldoze which stomps down on the ground creating a shock wave. Now, it would be crazy to say that Gible is strong enough to be able to create tornadoes or sandstorms with its own strength power, in many animations in the games and in the anime it is presented more as if the Pokémon can summon these natural phenomena rather than create them themselves with their strength. But Bulldoze is complicated, by its nature when using Gible can create shock waves on the ground, but it is difficult to calculate so it will not be included.

Lastly, there are two Pokémon moves that need to be discussed here; Magnitude and Seismic Toss.

Gibles have shown themselves capable of defeating Golems, who can learn Magnitude, who can cause earthquakes. Now, while Gible can defeat Golems who can cause earthquakes, it would be a stretch to say that Gible can also cause earthquakes. In the Golem fight we’ve seen Gible have, they never used Magnitude, plus Gible was able to defeat them easily due to the type advantage. I actually put (Debatable) there because you can make an argument for Gible scaling to that feat in terms of strength or durability, but personally I didn't because Gible shouldn't scale to a move it hasn’t been seen to use or even survive to in any media outside of the gameplay mechanics of the games.

Speaking of, Seismic Toss, the infamous move where the Pokémon jumps with the opponent beyond Earth and goes back with devastating strength. Now, I think that this move is easier to explain as to why not give it to Gible; First, Gible's evolutionary line can't learn the move and in all of Gible's appearances outside the games we've never had them take the move and survive, the Pokémon that Gible scales can't even do Seismic Toss.

Smoochum, Togepi, and Happiny can theoretically learn Seismic Toss, but the first two are via transfer from another generation and the last one via breeding, and even though I counted a breeding move for Gible, this seems like a stretch. I basically won't be giving Seismic Toss to any of them, let alone scaling Gible with it, because it's not something a natural Pokémon of theirs would learn.

So yeah, this is the explanation behind some of the moves and how I handled them, if you don't like it, sorry.

Scaling to the other Marvel Characters

Okay, I'm sure when you saw some of the stuff I wrote about Jeff's experience, feats, and scaling, you had a lot of questions about how I handled things. Like, if Jeff scales to Kraven and Deadpool, where's Spider-Man scaling? Why am I using all of these basic character feats instead of the max of Street level feats? In fact, Jeff bit Storm and Polaris, defeated a Monster that gave Doctor Strange a hard time, and even defeated him and other Superheroes at the same time, so where's Herald Jeff?

Alright, so much to cover here. First off, we don't know what this Monster was that was attacking Doctor Strange or why he had a problem with it, so it's hard to say how impressive Jeff would be in a fight against it. Jeff also took Doctor Strange and the other heroes by surprise, they're not 24/7 multiverses-destroying machines, they can be "defeated" by significantly weaker characters if they get distracted temporarily. The same can be said for biting characters, despite their VS numbers these characters are still capable of taking damage no matter how small, they can feel the bites of a small tube, it doesn't mean Jeff's bites are planet level.

Okay, Herald Jeff is stupid, but then why doesn’t Jeff fully scale with Street Levels? He scales with two characters that are the same level as Spidey, so where are all his best feats? I’ll be honest, I’m being VERY generous with the scaling I’m giving Jeff, we never saw his confrontation with Kraven and I just assumed that it happen (and even if that weren't the case, it's pretty debatable whether Kraven even fully scales to Spider-Man). Plus, he’s never had any kind of direct onfrontation with any hero or villain or whatever, the only reason he scales to Deadpool is because he was able to bite through a giant monster that Deadpool was able to damage, so he can’t even scale to Wade’s Durability feats because you can’t scale Durability to Strength like you can scale Strength to Durability.

Look, I looked through all of Jeff's existing material, and aside from the questionable scaling he'd get from Marvel Rivals,  Jeff doesn't have anything more impressive than breaking a door or a wall. Scaling to these characters  with their own individual feats without any further scaling feels like the most appropriate way to scale Jeff. And as the only person in this world that has VS researching Jeff the Freaking Land Shark, I think I know what I'm talking about, if only a little bit.

Gible Scaling to Ash's Gible

Throughout this blog, many of you have probably noticed that I've used a lot of things from Ash Ketchum's Gible from the Pokémon anime, mainly for the feats and somewhat for the scaling. But with the Ash VS Yugi blog out and all the Ash blogs documented there, including Gible, you might have noticed a couple of omissions in this blog, like Tobias saying that Draco Meteor would have KO'd ANY of his team members besides Darkrai (including the Latios he had on his team). This could start a scaling chain where I would end up scaling Gible with Latios and Latios with other legendary Pokémon at a similar level, and Gible would become continental or something like that.

And the reason is very simple: this isn't Ash's Gible; this is a generic wild Gible without any trainer intervention. That's why its arsenal and skill & intelligence sections are the way they are. The reason I'm including feats and scaling for Ash's Gible is because it's an unevolved Gible, so relatively speaking, it should be at a similar level to other Gibles. That's why I'm using a soft composite version of a Gible, looking at everything Gible-related, to consider what a Gible's maximum potential theoretically holds before evolving.

I know this seems like picking and choosing what to give the character and what not to, and I understand that, but I think this is the best way to examine the characters and what they can do. Gible's Ash is Gible's Ash; if it has the potential to KO a Latios, it would be thanks to Ash. If Gible didn't have Ash, Draco Meteor would most likely continue hitting only Piplup. Trainers are vital in shaping Pokémon to their full potential, and that's why a wild Pokémon and a Pokémon with a trainer are two completely different beasts in many cases like this.

Verdicts

Stats

Due to the nature of both characters it’s kind of hard to put definitive stats on them but I’ll try. Now when it comes to direct feats Gible wins hands down, the most impressive thing Jeff has done was breaking a door which would put him at 2907827.38 Joules, 17.55 Megajoules if he uses his Symbiote suit, while a single Gible was able to eat Team Rocket’s entire Blasto-Bot II mech, which would put him at 1.811 tons of TNT. But with scaling Jeff gets a bit higher; he’d scale to Kraven The Hunter who has shown to have strength comparable to an elephant twice, which would put him, and Jeff by extension, at 4.535 kg in terms of strength (and durability).

Now, I know many will question my lack of higher Street level Marvel scaling as I scaled Jeff to three characters that directly scale to Spider-Man, the highest of the Street tiers. I already explained why I did this but you know what, let's play Devil's Advocate, what if we scale Jeff to the best feats that Street tiers have? Things like Spidy pushing the Hulk out of the way of an antimatter bomb at 1.2 kilotons, Luke Cage surviving an explosion that destroyed Manhattan at 54 megatons, or Spidy again tanking a blast from the Scepter of the Manticore, whose energy could power The Sandman, which requires 1 exajoule of energy or 239 megatons. Hell, even the time Electro pulse a quantum particle engine that would destroy New York at 316.5 megatons.

The thing is that if we do that with Jeff, we would also have to take Gible's theoretical scaling high ends, and in that case; It would take movement like Bulldoze, Twister, Sandstorm literally, with Gible making those natural disasters happen by himself, which would mean that Gible is strong enough to create tornadoes, and those have the force of 35.4626 kilotons of TNT. If that's not enough, under this line of thinking, Gible could scale to moves like Magnitude and Seismic Toss, which reach 1.04 Teratons of TNT and 133.43 Kilotons - 221.37 Ronnatons of TNT, respectively. There is also Slowking telekinetically raising an island, and Sawk “cleave the ocean in half”, and- AAAARGH!

What I mean by all this is that it doesn't matter if you go for the higher ends or the lower ends, what characters you scale both characters with or whatever, Gible will always be stronger than Jeff (Unless you put Jeff at Herald level, which no one with any self-respect would do).

Luckily speed is easier and more straightforward to figure out for the two of them. Now, Gible has been able to dodge Pikachu's Thunderbolt, which combined with the fact that it should outscale other Pokemon with electric moves like Pichu and Elekid, should put Gible to lightning speed without problem. In comparison, Jeff was able to dodge multiple Repulsor Beams from an Iron Man gauntlet, which are stated to be lightspeed, combined with the fact that characters Jeff should scale to also have multiple feats and scaling of dodging light attacks, should put Jeff in FTL speeds without a problem. I know I could get a more exact number of their speeds by calculating frame by frame the scenes of their direct feats of them dodging said attacks, but I think this is enough; Gible is Mach 1282.8 and Jeff is 299,792,458 mph. Simple as that.

This would put the two in a clear advantage in the two categories, with Gible being 1,806.465 times stronger and Jeff being 903,614.45 times faster. You could argue that Jeff takes this category since the speed difference is bigger than the strength difference, but having superior strength or superior speed is only one factor in the debate, which matters more depending on how much they can help them alongside the other factors, speaking of.

Arsenal & Abilities

These two little critters have a lot going for them that needs to be analyzed. First, when it comes to Arsenal, Jeff obviously has a ton of stuff compared to Gible who only has one Berry that won't help him at all in this matchup, while Gible has a ton of abilities due to his multiple Pokémon moves, although in that department Jeff isn't far behind either, especially when some of his arsenal gives him new abilities. Let’s go piece by piece.

First let’s look at Gible, he has several moves that do different things, besides the multiple variations to do a tackle, he also has moves like Body Slam and Iron Head that can make someone unable to attack for a while or Scary Face and Iron Tail that can lower Speed and Defense, which could hurt Jeff if he gets hit by these attacks. Gible also has a big list of attacks like Mud Shot, Dragon Breath, and Draco Meteor that give him many ranged attacks, while Jeff only has two. But the biggest advantage that Gible has here are the moves Bulldoze, Sand Tomb, Twister, and Sandstorm, which allows Gible to create big shock waves, tornadoes, and sandstorms, giving him enormous battlefield control in the fight. Also, depending on what ability he was born with, he can increase his evasion ability in a sandstorm with Sand Veil or damage someone just by being touched with Rough Skin.

But from here, things start to sway towards Jeff. Sure, Hide and Seek and Dig do pretty much the same thing of swim in the ground, Jeff's Iron Man boot and Falcon wings can be countered by the move Twister which double the damage if he's hit while flying, and other things like the knives, the rope, the universal translator, and even the Body-Changing Diamond are practically useless in this battle (the later mainly because Jeff and Gible would still have their abilities in different bodies and nothing would change).

Jeff has several things that allow him to grow to enormous size and shrink to a very small size. Sure, Gible managed to eat a Team Rocket robot larger than himself, so theoretically he wouldn't have any problem fighting a big Jeff, but a small Jeff? That could be a problem, especially since Jeff also has experience fighting bigger foes than himself. He also has a concoction that turns him into a Taz-like monster that could give him some unpredictability, he has Hawkeye's arrows for another long-range option, Captain America's Shield can provide production to several of Gible's ranged attacks, and Black Widow's Gauntlets give him so many options like moving in with the grappling hook, an electric blast, multiple explosions, and a knock-out gas (which works similar to the Status Condition Sleep), things that Gible obviously can't counter.

But those are just the things Jeff can have on hand (or fin, or whatever they are). He also has the magic gems that, when eaten, give him a bunch of different powers like make him bigger and give him muscular arms to hit Gible harder; the eight tentacles that could grapple Gible to restrain his movement; the same with the crab arms but with a firmer grip; and laser eyes to do what laser eyes do best; potentially gain one of Gible's powers (or moves) with the blue and yellow gem, and he can even change the world around him with the multi-colored gem, turning it into a cartoon that includes cartoon logic. And then we have his Venom Symbiote, which besides allowing him to morph his body into a variety of shapes, can also infect others with the Venom Symbiote, create a variety of things with his biomass, scan an area for danger, a shriek that literally causes depression, invincibility, change his appearance to camouflage himself, prod to the mind and soul, and generate almost any attack, things that Gible obviously has nothing to counter. Oh wait, I almost forgot, there's also the ‘It's Jeff’ attack, where Jeff hides underground where no one can see him, turns giant and eats everything around him, slowly eliminating their health until they die.

Also, while many Pokemon have moves that allow them to heal themselves, Gible unfortunately cannot learn any of those moves, unlike Jeff, who can use his Healing Bubbles to heal himself from any type of damage Gible can give him, just as one last nail in the coffin for Gible.

In conclusion, although Gible has a couple of things going for him, like more projectiles in terms of natural abilities, moves that can decrease Jeff's speed and durability, a direct counter to his multiple aerial options, and several moves that provide him with battlefield control with tornadoes and sandstorms that Jeff can't deal with. But Jeff simply has the biggest advantage in everything else; not only does he have a lot of attacks and gadgets that are equal to many of the moves that Gible has, but they also provide him with too many options to easily defeat Gible, from increasing his size, blocking his attacks, immobilizing him in various ways, other movement options like swinging with a grappling hook or Venom Symbiote, to many things that grant him extra abilities like electric shock, invincibility, area scanning, tentacle and crab arms, regeneration, and a way to recover health after receiving any type of damage that Gible may do to him. And since Jeff has the speed advantage over Gible, it's very likely that Jeff could connect one of these potential attacks to Gible before he does it first. So, for all this and more, the one who has the advantage in Arsenal & Abilities is definitely Jeff.

Oh crap, I forgot to mention the Mecha-Jeff and the Wakanda Car-

Tertiary Factors

I'm going to be straightforward with this section; Jeff has the advantage in experience, skill, intelligence, and all tertiary factors. Jeff, since his first appearance, has already teamed up with several superheroes and hero teams, helping them in their missions, going on adventures in space, and facing two different Symbiote invasions. Right now he's literally chasing his own shadow and even sneaking into several superheroes' things and into facilities whose access should be impossible. All of that would already give him more experience than a regular Gible who, besides fighting each other and other wild Pokémon, would only have the experience of living his regular Pokémon life in the wild. That also means that Jeff also has more skill in general than Gible, given that Jeff has shown to be more of a quick thinker and improviser in any situation he's in; in contrast, Gible knows enough about Pokémon combat to be able to win many fights but is still early on in his evolutionary stage before he gains the combat skill that Gabite and Garchomp have.

But possibly the biggest advantage Jeff has here is intelligence. Many Pokémon are presented as having intelligence similar to that of a human or even higher. But not Gible. Gible, like a lot of Pokémon, is presented as a cross between a common animal and a small child with a conscience. I mean, he's not stupid; he's smart enough to use Pokémon moves, listen to his trainer's commands, and fight in general. But that's nothing compared to Jeff's intelligence. Jeff has shown himself to be quite intelligent, so intelligent that he can understand things like human language and related things like signals, understand the confusion of human inventions like cages, phones, and video games, and even develop human talents like cooking, drawing, and sculpting.

This may not seem like much, but in the long run, stuff like that counts for a lot. We've also seen Jeff plan and learn from his surroundings so he can make plans to help him in any situation. This helps Jeff a lot in this fight. Along with his superior speed, it allows him to utilize a variety of other things to attack Gible in more unexpected ways, ways that Gible would have no idea how to fight because Jeff doesn't fight like a Pokémon. He has so many gadgets, weapons, rocks, Venom stuff—things that Jeff can not only learn to use to their fullest but also effectively use against Gible in ways that Gible can't do anything about.

So in terms of experience, skill, and especially intelligence, Jeff easily takes this category.

Conclusion

Overall, although this matchup was difficult to decide on a winner at first when I started working on this blog, but as I researched both more and more, the winner became quite obvious. Gible was stronger than Jeff, and with all its Pokémon moves, it had more natural abilities than Jeff. However, considering Jeff's speed advantage and all the gadgets and weird items he's acquired on his adventures, those advantages don't matter much here, especially when you add Jeff's greater experience and intelligence, which would help it defeat Gible even more easily. Both little guys had a bite to them, but in the end, Jeff was the one who gave Gible his Fin.

The Winner… is Jeff The Land Shark.

Hello, Bluegatito here once again.

I've taken a break from blogging since... the two blogs I made, including one where I researched two huge franchises of content, had their images corrupted because I deleted the documents I copied and pasted to create them. That made me lose enthusiasm for making more blogs, but I recently decided to return to blogging (hoping the images won't get corrupted this time). I hope you liked this blog because there's more to come. My intention here is to do VS blogs of MUs that I like but think have little chance of becoming blogs by somebody else. Like the...
